This is a curated portrait experience celebrating women in their 40s and beyond. Each woman photographed will be included in an upcoming gallery-style exhibition honoring women over 40 and their lived experience.

I’m Sanja. I’m 50, and this is the most honest work I’ve created.

I’ve spent nearly a decade photographing women at every stage of life. What I see again and again is this: with time comes clarity. Presence. Authority. A body and a face that carry lived experience rather than performance.

This studio was built for that stage.

The sessions are calm, directed, and intentional. The focus is not on becoming someone else, but on being seen clearly — without rushing, fixing, or exaggeration.

Is this for someone like me?

If you're a woman over 40 who has been putting this off — this is for you. You don't need to know how to pose, what to wear, or how to look. That's handled. You just need to show up.

Will I feel comfortable?

Yes. Sessions are private, unhurried, and conducted in a calm studio environment. You'll be guided throughout — there's no pressure to perform or be anyone other than yourself. Most women say they forgot they were being photographed.

What if I've never done anything like this before?

Most women haven't. The session begins with a consultation so I understand what you want these images to say about you. From there, hair, makeup, wardrobe, posing, and expression are all directed by me. You don't need experience — just willingness.

The studio is based in Ashburn, Virginia, serving women across Loudoun County and Northern Virginia. Sessions are held in a private home studio — the address is shared after booking.

What if I don't like how I look in photos?

That's exactly why this experience exists. The session is fully directed — every pose, expression, and angle is guided by me. The goal is not to make you look like someone else. It's to show you how you actually look when someone who knows what they're doing is behind the camera. Most women are genuinely surprised.
